Vote for your favorite innovative K-6 teacher to win a $10 K classroom grant. Watch how finalists answered the question: What would you do with a $10 K classroom grant?
The Specifics
Studies have shown that grades K through 6 are the foundational years in which children build the necessary skills for lifelong learning. Teachers that take time to develop innovative lessons and engage students beyond their textbooks deserve to be recognized.
GOOD is partnering with University of Phoenix to bring you the second annual Great American Teach-Off to support and celebrate these deserving teachers. Vote for an innovative teacher that has inspired students with interesting classroom projects and unique lesson plans, or perhaps encouraged community involvement in their school by developing a creative after-school program. The winner will receive a $10,000 classroom grant.

Rules & Regulations
- Voting begins March 4 noon PT for a course of five weeks.
- Every week, two finalists will be eliminated based on whoever receives the most votes.
- In order to vote, log in with your GOOD account. If you don’t have a GOOD account, it’s free to join on GOOD.is. All you need is an email address or a Facebook account to register.
- Read all rules and regulations.

Why when there is so much need in our school systems, especially here in LA was the award given to someone who is going to use it for overseas? We have many school systems failing our kids because of lack of funding for one issue, it is hard to see this, as altruistic as it may be.

Well I can't tell you how disappointed I am to learn that the winner of this contest is at a private school. I am confident that Madeline is a wonderful teacher, but this hardly seems fair. Once again it comes down to the haves vs the have nots. Melrose is a tiny underfunded public school that worked tirelessly for these very needed dollars for 5 long weeks. While I find it admirable that this school can afford to share these funds, we most certainly needed them for vital instructional materials here on our campus. Maybe next year Good will consider having separate contests for public and private schools.
